Continuous drying of sodium hydrosulphite washed with methanol

The process consists of (a) passing the washed sodium hydro-sulphite in a nitrogen stream at below 80 deg C continuously through a fluidised bed; (b) passing themethanol vapour contg traces of water and the nitrogen to a cooling tower in which the methanol condenses at 20 deg C; and (c) recycling the nitrogen through a heating system. - The saturation capacity of the nitrogen with methanol is continuously used between the condensn. temp of methanol and the inlet temp of the nitrogen.
