Engine pre-heater with an electric heating element, which, by means of a compressed sleeve 10, is fastened at the bottom of a cup 1 which essentially surrounds the heat-emitting part 9 of the heating element. The open end portion of the cup has two diametrically opposite holes 13, 14, through which the end portions 7, 8 of a resilient metal wire project out to bear against the inside of the opening of an engine block 3 after mounting, an O-ring 6 inserted in a groove 11 on the cup bearing in a sealing manner against the inner periphery of the opening 4, the cup being held firmly by clamping between the projecting end portions 7, 8 and the resilient ring 15. Mounting of the engine pre-heater is effected in a simple manner by positioning one projecting end portion 7 against the inside of the opening, the second projecting end portion 8 being simultaneously drawn in when the first projecting end portion 7 is pressed in through the hole 4, and the cup can be introduced through the opening 4 when the two projecting end portions are aligned with the exterior of the cup, an O-ring 6 bearing in a sealing manner against the inner surface of the opening 4. <IMAGE> |
