PURPOSE:To make the storage of a telephone number unnecessary by storing a name and a telephone number on an IC card. CONSTITUTION:When the IC card 1A in inserted into an IC card writing/reading part 1, it reads the name and telephone number of an opposite party, which are stored on the IC card IA. Upon the completion of the reading, a control part 6 displays said inforamtion on the name and telephone number of the opposite party on a display part 2. When a registration key 43 is pressed, the control part 6 indicates a character 25 and cursors 26 and 27 through a key control part 5. First the cursor 26 is shifted to a specified character through the control part 6 by the operation of a scroll key 41, and said character is displayed at the position of the cursor 27 by pressing a selection key 42. In such a way characters are sequentially displayed at the positions that the cursor 27 indicates, and the name of the opposite party is displayed on the display part 2. The telephone number is inputted through the use of a ten key 72.
