PURPOSE:To simply check inputted sentences through a sentence processor provided with a display device having a small screen, by displaying character strings forming those inputted sentences on the screen while shifting them in the fixed direction. CONSTITUTION:A character input key 1 includes various character keys needed for input of sentences. A telopping key 2 gives an indication to display the character strings of input sentences from the right to the left on a display device LCD16 as if they flowed (telopping). The key 2 includes a high-speed telopping key 2a and a low-speed telopping key 2b that designate the telopping speeds. An encoder 3 converts the key signals receives from the key 1 into character codes; while an encoder 4 converts the key signals received from the key 2 into the telopping control codes. A CPU 5 performs various editing control processes according to a control program stored in a ROM 6.
