High-efficiency device for transferring the magnetic energy contained in a reservoir inductor 1 to a load impedance 2, comprising switch means 3 enabling the transfer to be performed gradually by successively cutting segments of the reservoir inductor 1 out of circuit. A resonant auxiliary circuit 4 is inductively coupled with the circuit formed by the reservoir inductor 1 and the load impedance 2 by way of a transformer 5 whose secondary comprises a mid point 6 connected to one end of the load impedance 2. The switch means 3 comprise two gangs 67 connected respectively to the two halves of the secondary of the transformer 5 as well as means 9, 9a, 9b of alternate control of the two gangs 6, 7 enabling the segments of the reservoir inductor 1 to be cut out of circuit alternately by controlling one of the gangs, then the other. <IMAGE>
