1,1'-Bis-pyrazolyl methanes of formula (I), in which R3 and R4 are H or methyl, and R5 is H, bromo or nitro, for use as anti-parasites against anaerobic protozoa, are made by condensation of 4-nitro-, 3,4-dimethyl 4-nitro-, 4-bromo- or 3,5-dimethyl-pyrazole, or pyrazole itself, with dichloro-, dibromo- or diiodo-methane in presence of a catalyst of quaternary phosphonium salt, crown or cryptate ether tye.
