[Also in Group XVII] Paper or cardboard is sized with a dispersion of a synthetic resin, e.g. a vinyl polymer such as polyvinyl acetate, or with an aqueous suspension of chalk in a lime-casein solution, and is then immersed in a lime-casein solution to produce a surface coating which is impervious to oils and fats. The paper may be shaped, e.g. into tube or other form, suitable for a container, before treatment.</p> |
