PURPOSE:To improve the traveling property, wear resistance, and durability of the titled medium by forming a topcoat layer contg. the perfluoroalkyl ester of a carboxylic acid and an extreme-pressure agent on a ferromagnetic metallic thin film which is the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A lubricant obtained by adding resinous extreme-pressure agents of all kinds into the perfluoroalkyl ester of a carboxylic acid which is the ester of an aliphatic carboxylic acid and a perfluoroalcohol exhibits an excellent lubricating effect over a wide temp. range. Accordingly, the ferromagnetic metallic thin film is formed on a nonmagnetic carrier, and the topcoat layer contg. the perfluoroalkyl ester of a carboxylic acid and the extreme-pressure agent is formed on the ferromagnetic metallic thin film. Consequently, the traveling property, durability, and wear resistance of the medium are improved. |
