PURPOSE:To prevent a wire rod from being bitten between the guide surface of a bite holder and a tab outer cylinder through the action of a guide surface and to reduce the factor of poor cutting to zero, by a method wherein a feed guide surface is integrally formed to the bite holder. CONSTITUTION:A guide feed surface 8' is formed integrally with a bite holder 3. The position and the posture of the feed guide surface 8' are set so that it enters a tab outer cylinder 12 during the latter half stage of a period in which a guide surface 5a of a bite holder 3 is moved within a tab outer cylinder 12. In prior to catch a wire rod S by means of the guide surface 5a of the bite holder 3 positioned adjacent to the guide feed surface, the wire rod A is caught by means of the feed guide surface 8' to feed the wire rod to the fixed blade 4 side. Through the action of the guide surface 5a and the guide surface 8', the wire rod A is further induced to a feed blade 4. This constitution enables reliable cutting of the wire rod S without bitting the wire rod by means of the tab outer cylinder 12.
