PURPOSE:To facilitate the setting operation of count number and to reduce the setting time by providing a pulse generating means, an initial setting switch and a control means and using the control means so as to control the stop and supply of a continuous pulse signal generated from the pulse generating means to the counter means. CONSTITUTION:In depressing the initial setting switch 12, an H level is applied to a set input terminal S of a flip-flop 11, its Q output goes to H and the inverse of Q output goes to L. Since the inverse of Q output is at an L level, an output pulse from an oscillation circuit 8 is fed to a counter circuit 2 via a 3-state buffer 9. Thus, the counter circuit 2 counts the pulse signal from the oscillation circuit 8. Since the desired count number is initial-set automatically in this way, the count number is increased at a high speed and the setting time of the count number is reduced remarkably.
