PURPOSE:To provide a self-adhesive tape which can be readily torn off with fingers from the edge portion thereof and which comprises a self-adhesive, layer, a base cloth layer and a laminate layer, with a number of cuts passing through at least the laminate layer provided along the edge line of the tape. CONSTITUTION:A number of cuts 2 passing through at least the laminate layer 6 is provided on a self-adhesive tape 5 having a variable width 3 which comprises a self-adhesive layer 3, a base cloth layer 7 and a laminate layer 6, along substantially the edge line of either one or both sides of the tape. The shape of the cut is not critical. However, it is pref. that the cut have an acute angle portion (notch) so as to offer a notching effect. Also, it is pref. that a cut having a slender shape lie along the direction perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the self-adhesive tape.
