Waste water from at least one household is purified by the waste water being subjected to a chemical precipitation treatment, after which the chemically treated and clarified waste water is conducted through a biofilter, after which the water which has been chemically treated and purified through a biofilter is conducted away to a receiver, with the waste water, before it is subjected to the chemical treatment, being conducted into a tank, which can be part of a multi- chambered sludge separator, in which precipitated sludge is caused to undergo an anaerobic fermentation, from which chamber the clarified water is conducted away to a deposition tank, where appropriate via a second chamber in a conventional sludge separator, from which deposition tank the waste water is intermittently conducted to the precipitation tank for adding precipitating chemicals, and with the chemically precipitated sludge being conveyed to the tank in which the anaerobic fermentation takes place. |
