A burner head for a blow-torch comprises a cylindrical member 8 having an axial main flame passage 12 terminating in an outlet orifice 17 around which are arranged flame retaining ports formed by a corrugated metal strip 16 which is wrapped round the reduced end portion of the member 8 to lie between the outer surface of the member 8 and the inner surface of the sleeve 11. The 'ports are then formed in an inner ring 19 and an outer ring. 20. In use, gas flows from a feed pipe through a jet 15 into the passage 12 where it mixes with air entering through ports 13. Part of the mixture emerges from the outlet 17 to form the main flame and the remainder passes through radial parts 14 along an annular passage 18 and out of the retainer ports 19 and 20 to join concentric rings of retaining -flames. |
