PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect a deceleration, namely a panic braking, of a vehicle by counting pulses in proportion to vehicle speeds, storing the counted values as vehicle speed values, substracting the stored vehicle speed values with time differentials, and obtaining the deceleration. CONSTITUTION:Pulses PS outputted from a vehicle speed sensor 1 are taken via an input port 2D of a microcomputer 2 into a CPU 2A. The CPU 2A then counts the pulses for example at 1 second intervals and writes the calculated value into a RAM 2C as a vehicle speed. Also, the microcomputer 2 compares the vehicle speed with the set value written into the ROM 2B to discriminate deceleration. When the deceleration exceeds the set value written into the ROM 2B, a CPU 2A issues a warning signal to be outputted via an output port 2E to an indicator 6. On the other hand, the input port 2D is connected to a switch 7 for changing vehicle types. By switching the switch 7, a set value for actuating, for example, the indicator 7 is changed. |
