PURPOSE:The titled polymer having specific physical properties, improved moldability, providing transparent molded articles, having improved flame- retardance, containing a repeating unit obtained from brominated bisphenol F. CONSTITUTION:The aimed polymer containing a repeating unit shown by the formula (m and n are 1-2 integer) and having melt flow rate yg/10min and Br content xwt% thereof satisfying the formula 8<=y<=1.4x+3. The polymer, for example, is obtained by reacting brominated bisphenol F of bis(3-bromo-4- hydroxyphenyl)methane, etc., with a carbonate precursor such as phosgene, etc. The polymer has preferably >=0.3 specific viscosity in 0.7g/100ml solution of polymer in methylene chloride at 20 deg.C.
