Process for recovering lead from oxidic or oxidic/sulphatic secondary precursor materials

A process is described for recovering lead from oxidic or oxidic/sulphatic secondary precursor materials, in particular from a corresponding fraction in the recirculation (recycling) and processing of accumulator (battery) scrap, whereby the precursor materials are subjected to preliminary desulphurisation with an alkaline solution of the last process stage, the complete desulphurisation is then carried out in a second stage with a NaOH solution and the oxide-containing, carbonate-containing sulphur-free lead fraction thus obtained is melted under reducing conditions to lead, while the residual lead contained in the alkaline solution is precipitated as carbonate, separated out and the remaining lead-free alkaline solution is recycled to the first stage for preliminary desulphurisation.
