According to the method described, a cavity subsequently filled with concrete is made with a driving tool (1) having a vibratory drive (6) vibrating in the vertical direction. After the driving tool (1) is vibrated to the desired depth, the concrete is forced at such a pressure under the displacement head (4) of the driving tool (1) that the lifting force for withdrawing the driving tool (1) is produced entirely or partly by the pressure of the injected concrete. The apparatus for carrying out the method consists of a driving tube (3) which is closed from its bottom end by a tapered point (4), and its top end carries an outer vibrating ram. Arranged in the driving tube (3) is a concrete-feed pipe (7) which can be attached to a concrete pump and whose mouth, which can be closed by a lost cap (8), lies in the tapered point (4). <IMAGE>
