PURPOSE:To extract the frame of a table from a sentence data containing its table, by deciding each information of the sentence data containing ruled line information for constituting the table and other information, and performing a specific processing to other information except a ruled line. CONSTITUTION:Information of a sentence data which contains ruled line information for constituting a table prepared already and other information which follows said information is successively read out by a read-out means RD. A deciding means JD decides whether this read-out information is the ruled line information or not. A processing means PS performs a prescribed processing to other information except the ruled line information, based on the result of this decision, and outputs it. A rewriting means WR inputs this processed information, and the sentence data is rewritten, based on this information. In this way, in the rewritten sentence data, the ruled line information is left as it is, and other information becomes prescribed information.
