摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate effect of an interfering substance with a simplified measuring circuit while widening the concentration measuring range of a biochemical substance, by immobilizing a specified enzyme and a material to be reacted thereby on the surface of a working electrode to compactize and simplify the construction of the electrode. CONSTITUTION:A high polymer membrane 15 composed of polypyrrol is formed on a base electrode 12 of a working electrode 10. An object to be measured contains glucose as biochemical substance to be measured. The membrane 15 has an oxygen glucose oxidate (GOD) with glucose as substrate and ferrocene, a substance generated from an oxidizing reaction by the GOD, immobilized thereon. When the electrode 10 is immersed into a liquid having the object being measured in a phosphoric acid buffer liquid together with a reference electrode, a potential difference proportional to the concentration of the glucose is generated between both the electrodes. Thus, the concentration of the glucose can be measured in a wide measuring range with a simple and small battery unit by measuring the potential difference.
