PURPOSE:To attain to shorten a time, by making it possible to carry out a plurality of continuous line feeds at once by providing a receiving buffer memory, a receiving buffer data analyzing circuit, a continuous line feed mode memory circuit, a number-of-line-feed memory circuit and a receiving buffer data undetection circuit. CONSTITUTION:An upper rank apparatus can send input data continuously until a receiving buffer memory 12 is filled. A receiving buffer data analyzing circuit 3 reads the data 2a of the memory 2 to analyze the same and, if it is line feed data, a line feed order signal 3b is supplied to the setting terminal of a continuous line feed mode memory circuit 5 and a number-of-line-feed memory circuit 4 stores line feed data (line feed of one line) 3. If the read data 2a is printing data, this data is outputted to a printing data signal line 3C to be applied to the reset terminal of the circuit 5 to output a line feed order setting signal. A receiving buffer data undetection circuit 7 outputs a signal 7a showing that the buffer memory 2 becomes empty. As a result, a line feed order circuit 8 sends a line feed order and the number of line feeds, for example, three lines to a line feed driving circuit to perform the line feed of three lines at one time.
