PURPOSE:To enable stable and normal taking-up by preventing not only the generation of the timewise change or irregularity of transmission torque but also the generation of ununiformization thereof, by performing the transmission of rotary power using the viscosity resistance of the fluid sealed in a hermetically closed space. CONSTITUTION:A ribbon take-up mechanism 10 is equipped with a cylindrical drum 12 wherein a ribbon take-up shaft 11 is provided so as to be protruded on the center axial line thereof and silicon oil 13 is sealed in the internal space thereof. When a gear 16 is rotated by the forward movement of a carriage 1, a clutch plate 14 is rotated and the silicone oil 13 follows the rotation of said clutch plate 14 to flows so as to form a circular stream in the internal space of the drum 12 by the actions of viscosity resistance and inertial force. The ribbon take-up shaft 11 is rotated by the rotation of the cylindrical drum 12 and an ink ribbon after thermal transfer is taken up around a take-up reel by predetermined tensile force while releasing said ribbon from recording paper. The generation of the variation of ununiformization of transmission torque with the elapse of time or between indivisual products is prevented by the oil 13 to enable good taking-up, the prevention of the generation of stripe wrinkles and the perfect prevention of breakage.
