摘要 PURPOSE:To eliminate unevenness in the degree of strip slackness by sensing it between roll for each strand, and determining the speed change rate of a fixed roll from the ratio of the deviation from mean value to the effect coefficient of change in the slackness degree. CONSTITUTION:The degree of slackness of each strand measured by a degree-of- slackness sensor 9 for a strip 6 is entered in a process computer 10, which determines the ratio of the degree of slackness to the mean value, and if the result is smaller than the allowable band width, a helper drive motor 12 remains out of speed control to be made by a speed control device 11. If greater, the effect coefficient of slackness change with respect to the speed change of the helper roller 2, the deviation from the mean value, is determined, and the speed change rate of each roller 2 is calculated from the ratio of the slackness deviation to the effect coefficient, and the speed change rate upstream the strand as object shall be added, and drive motor 12 of each helper roll 2 is rotated under control by said speed control device 11. This can prevent rupture of the strip due to maximum tension generation and damage due to excessive slackness.
