PURPOSE:To make a mainframe height of transformer low and obtain an foil wound transformer with a bulk capacity that is transportable by means of railroad transportation by providing a yoke form which is almost roundness in the vicinity of junction between a yoke and leg or is flat in the middle of a span between two junctions with legs. CONSTITUTION:A low-tension winding 1 and a high-tension winding 2 are wound by winding coils on main iron core legs 10 with metallic sheets and insulating sheets. A section form of a yoke 20 is similar to roundness in the vicinity of junctions with the iron core legs 10 and is flat in the middle of a, span between two junctions with legs. This approach makes a size of aperture of a central portion of the yoke 20 larger than its size near the junctions with legs and as a result, a height of mainframe can be lower in comparison with that of a conventional foil wound transformer.
