The hang glider which is described in the main patent ... (Patent Application P 3516998.2) and has an adjustable wing area and profile displacement is considerably improved by this invention with respect to the following items. Side rods, which are split in two and are jointed in the centre, create a double-trapezoidal wing geometry in the case of which the wing warping in fact occurs only in the outer wing section. A mechanical control system, which consists of cable runs and a specially designed pilot suspension means, converts the control movements of the pilot in the lateral direction about the vertical and in the longitudinal direction into a wing area and profile displacement which is asymmetric with respect to the longitudinal axis, into an asymmetric warping angle displacement and into a symmetric warping angle displacement of the hang glider. Highly curved profiles can also be clamped on as a result of a bent shape of the front and rear struts and of the keel tube. Bracing, which consists of one or two tubes, of the kingpost (uprights) and control bar (bottom bar) replaces the conventional cable bracing of the same to the keel tube.
