PURPOSE:To perform continuously and efficiently welding operation of a stud for welding by constituting a stud welding machine in such a way that the stud is supplied from the rear of the welding machine to the tip of a chuck. CONSTITUTION:When the operator pushes a push-button switch 48, electricity is conducted to a coil 31 which attracts an attracting body 23 and a cylinder 21 retreats. A piece of stud bolt is fed in this stage through a feed port 19 into a feed path 15. Air is then supplied from an air pipe 45 to advance a piston 36, then the stud bolt in the path 15 is ejected by a ramming bar 37 and is held in the state projecting from the front end of a stud chuck 9. When the current on an excitation coil 31 is shut off, the chuck 9 is advanced by the action of a pressing spring 27 to press strongly the projection of the stud bolt to a base material. The projection is melted and welded to the base material when the welding current is supplied via the cylinder 21, etc. to the stud. The air is supplied through an air hole 40 into the cylinder 21 and the bar 37 retreats upon ending of welding. |
