The manual massaging device has a hinge (7) by which the stem-like handle (5) is pivotably fastened on the housing (1). A coupling and a release mechanism which retain the stem-like handle in specific angular positions (e.g. 0 DEG and +/- 45 DEG ) and permit release of the coupling by pressure upon the release pin (8) are built into the hinge (7). The stem-like handle (5) can also be telescopically extendable. <IMAGE>
