PURPOSE:To allow the stylus tip of a pickup to contact the surface of a discoid recording medium by separating a sliding member from an engagement member gradually, and putting the pickup closer to the surface of the recording medium through a vertical rotating means. CONSTITUTION:When a musical performance of music on a surface 35a of the disk 35 is given, a vertical driving circuit 12 flows a vertical driving current to a coil 37 as shown by an arrow (c'), and then a vertical rotating part 36 is rotated as shown by an arrow (a) to slide the lifter cam 48 of the sliding member gradually as shown by an arrow (b) while rotating the tip of a tone arm pipe 1 conterclockwise. The tips of pins 47a and 47b move along V grooves 48a and 48b of the lifter cam 48 while leaving each other, so the tip of the pickup fixed atop of the tone arm pipe 1 is lowered onto the surface 35a of the disk almost at right angles. When the stylus tip contacts the surface 35a of the disk 35, the vertical driving circuit 12 reduces or cuts off the current flowed to the coil 37 of the vertical rotating part 36 to obtain a specific stylus force. |
