<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of the heat to be supplied by external heating or to make said quantity zero by replenishing the heat energy necessary for a reduction reaction by the exothermic reaction of CaO and CO2. CONSTITUTION:Particles essentially consisting of CaO and reducing gas are supplied to the lower part of the 2nd reduction furnace 1 to form a fluidized layer 2 and preliminarily reduced iron is supplied thereto. The carbonization reaction of CaO is progressed in the fluidized bed 2 and the heat energy necessary for the reduction of the preliminarily reduced iron is supplied to reduce the preliminarily reduced into to metallic iron. On the other hand, part of a fluid medium is discharged from the furnace and after the reduced iron and carbonated lime are separated, the carbonated lime is introduced into a separately disposed regeneration furnace 3 and is regenerated by heating to form CaO. The particles essentially consisting of the CaO is circulated to the 2nd reduction furnace 1 and are reused.</p> |
