PURPOSE:To obtain an audio signal having a compressed dynamic range by dividing the digital audio signals extracted out of a recording medium into two systems to have a time difference between both systems and controlling the sound volume of the audio signal of the other side by the signal corresponding to the amplitude of the preceding audio signal. CONSTITUTION:The signals read by a pickup 3 is demodulated by a demodulating circuit 4 and then decoded by a decoding circuit 5 for correction of errors. The decoded signal undergoes an analog conversion through a D/A converting circuit 6 and an analog audio signal is reproduced. The amplitude information on the reproduced audio signal is detected by an amplitude detecting circuit 9. If the amplitude is large, the output level is reduced and if the amplitude is small, the output level is increased by an output level control circuit 10 and thereby an output variable circuit 8 is controlled. The reproduced analog signal is delayed by a delay circuit 7 and supplied to the circuit 8. Therefore the signals corresponding to the amplitude are controlled in the approximately equal timing despite the time delays of the circuits 9 and 10. Thus a reproduced audio signal having a small dynamic range is delivered to an output terminal 11. |
