POLYPHENYLENE ETHER RESIN COMPOSITION HAVING SUPPRESSED DISCOLORATION TENDENCY

PURPOSE:To provide the titled composition containing an amine compound, a carboxylic acid (anhydride) and optionally a yellow dye and carbon black and resistant to fading (whitening) of the surface color under exposure to visible light. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition can be produced by compounding (A) 100pts.(wt.) of a resin component composed mainly of a polyphenylene ether resin or its mixture with a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon resin, (B) 0.0005-0.1pt. of a compound of formula I (R1 and R2 are 6-12C aromatic hydrocarbon group) and/or formula II (R3 and R5 are 1-20C hydrocarbon group; R4 is 1-20C biva lent hydrocarbon group; at least of one R3-R5 is aromatic group), (C) 0.005-2.0pts. of a carboxylic acid and/or its anhydride and, if necessary, (D) 0.05-1pt. of a yellow dye or pigment and/or (E) 0.001-0.01pt. of carbon black.
