PURPOSE:To produce the titled cylinder for plastics molding with the inner surface layer having excellent resistance to wear and corrosion by successively forming the layers of an Ni-base alloy contg. B and a Co-Ni alloy on the inner peripheral surface of a steel cylinder by a centrifugal coating method. CONSTITUTION:An Ni alloy contg. 1.0-5.0wt% B and the balance Ni and having 1,200 deg.C m.p. is placed on the inner peripheral surface of a steel cylinder base material 1 as a cylinder to be used for a plastics molding machine, steel lids are welded to both ends, and the material is put in a furnace at about 1,300 deg.C to melt the Ni alloy. The material is taken out from the furnace, and immediately incorporated in a centrifugal machine. The machine is driven at 1,800rpm to cool the material, and an Ni alloy layer 2 having 2.0-5.0mm thickness is centrifugally coated on the inner peripheral surface of the cylinder 1 and solidified. One of the steel lids is taken off, a Co-Ni alloy contg. about 40wt% Ni and the balance Co and having 1,030 deg.C m.p. is charged and heated at about 1,130 deg.C in the furnace to melt the Co-Ni alloy, the centrifugal machine is driven at 1,800rpm to cool the alloy, and a layer 3 of the Co-Ni alloy is formed. The inner surface is ground and finished, and a cylinder with the inner surface having excellent resistance to wear and corrosion is produced. |
