PURPOSE:To improve the work efficiency of a continuous heating furnace by previously heating a steel billet under proper conditions without changing a heat pattern when the desired takeout temp. of the steel billet is higher than the standard desired takeout temp. CONSTITUTION:When the desired takeout temp. of a steel billet heated in a continuous heating furnace is higher than the standard desired takeout temp., the steel billet is previously heated under conditions represented by the formula without changing a heat pattern. In the formula alpha is a coefft. of 5-10 decided by the various dimensions of the steel billet, the kind of the steel and the time required to put the previously heated steel billet in the heating furnace. By this method, the fuel unit is reduced and an energy saving effect is produced. |
