PURPOSE:To make it possible to set the thickness of each unit cell to the predetermined thickness by installing an elastic frame member for preventing the leakage of electrolyte around positive and negative electrodes and also installing a holding frame member for holding a bipolar electrode in the predetermined interval. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of unit cell with a diaphram 3 between positive and negative electrodes 2,4 are laminated through bipolar electrodes 1,5 to form an electrolyte circulating type secondary battery. In this case, rubber elastic frame members 51, 52 are arranged around the positive and negative electrodes 2,3 and bipolar electrode frame members 31, 34 around the bipolar electrodes 1,5. And, an interval holding frame member 41 made of polyvinylchloride resin or the like is installed between the bipolar electrode frame members 31, 34. Then, they are laminated and assembled so that electrolyte is circulated from manifolds 11 to 14. Therefore, it is possible to effectively prevent the leakage of the electrolyte and also prevent the scattering in characteristics with a constant thickness of the electrode in each unit cell. |
