Trailer coupling

A trailer coupling for motor vehicles with a bracket which is arranged on the motor vehicle and has a coupling ball, is designed such that it yields to pressing forces which act perpendicularly on the coupling ball, and has a measuring device which converts the travel occurring during the yielding into a readable indicating value. To this end, the coupling ball can be held in a yielding manner on the bracket by being arranged at the end of a shaft part which is guided displaceably in a perpendicular socket on the bracket, the measuring device including a sensor which is arranged between socket and shaft part.
