The gas boiler consists of a housing which encloses the heating-gas shaft and in the upper region of which is arranged a heat exchanger passing through the heating-gas shaft and in the lower region of which is arranged the gas burner. The heating-gas shaft (1) is formed from a heat-resistant, thermally conductive shaped body (3) of lightweight material, such as a shaped body made of ceramic fibre material or the like, which is provided with an embedded reinforcement (2). At least one coiled pipe (6), leading from the return connection (4) to the heat exchanger having the flow connection (4'), is embedded in the shaped body (3). The reinforcement (2), which is in thermally conductive connection or in contact with the coiled pipe (6) at least at certain points, is assigned to the coiled pipe (6) on the heating-gas shaft side. <IMAGE>
