In the case of a vacuum vessel (1), consisting of a housing (2) with an upper part (3) and a base part (4), an insulating insert (8) accommodated in the housing (2) and a lid (9) the insulating insert (8) being clamped between an inner shoulder (7) of the housing (2) and the base part (4) and an elastic supporting member (16) being arranged between the insulating insert (8) and the base part (4), the supporting member (16) is to be able to be manufactured with little material expenditure and low weight, while guaranteeing the necessary elasticity. This is achieved in that the elastic supporting member (16) is formed by an axially symmetrical hollow body (26), the wall of which has two bearing lips (27, 28) projecting away from one another, extending obliquely outwards to the insulating insert (8) and to the base of the base part (4) and bearing on these latter. <IMAGE>
