Cylindrical electric precipitator for the filtering of, in particular, liquid aerosols from a gas stream, having a gas inlet and a gas outlet, formed by three concentric cylinders, between which two gaps are formed, whereby the gas being filtered is reversed. In the two gaps there forms both a corona discharge, which electrically charges the aerosols, and an electrical field, which separates them from the gas stream. The degree of precipitation is significantly improved both by virtue of the electrode geometry and by adding a collector cartridge, like a second stage.
