PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of a treating apparatus by fluorophenols represented by a specified formula when the fluorophenols are treated, by adding an alkaline earth metal, zinc, nickel or the like. CONSTITUTION:When fluorophenols represented by the formula are subjected to concentration, recrystallization, sublimation, distillation or other treatment, an alkaline earth metal, zinc, nickel, the oxide or hydroxide thereof or a weak acid salt thereof is added. In the formula, X1 is H, Cl, F or Br, X2 is H, F, Cl or Br, Y is H, Cl or Br, when X1 is Cl, X2 is F and Y is H, Z is NH2 or NO2, when X1 is Cl, X2 is F and Y is not H, Z is H, and at least one of X1 and X2 is F. MgCO3, Zn(OH)2 or NiO is preferably used as the additive, and the additive is added by about 0.1-20% of the amount of the fluorophenols. Thus, the corrosion of a treating apparatus made of stainless steel, glass or iron by the fluorophenols is prevented.
