PURPOSE:To print only a necessary part of an optional area by providing a data limiting means for limiting a data which is sent out to a printing means, based on an area data which has designated a printing area. CONSTITUTION:A computer having a display device (CRT) 1 is provided with a RAM 2, a CPU 3, a keyboard 4 of an input part, a clock oscillator 6, a timing control circuit 7, a CRT control circuit 9, a display data storage part 10, etc., displays a prescribed graphic which has been stored in this storage part 10, on the CRT 1, and also, executes a printing output by a printer 12. On this computer, an instructing means 14 for instructing an optional coordinate position on a display screen of the CRT 1 is provided. In this state, by designating an area to be printed, by this instructing means 14, a data of this area is stored. Subsequently, a display data is limited by a data for showing this area and inputted to the printer 12. As a result, only the display contents of the designated area are printed.
