PURPOSE:To surely hold a lens on a lens barrel without generating distortion on a lens by fixing and holding the lens stored in the lens barrel through a plate-like press ring consisting of an elastic member fixed on the lens barrel. CONSTITUTION:A cleaned lens 2 is dropped into a lens storing part 3 of the lens barrel 5 and supported by a supporting member 4. The press ring 6 is loaded into the lens barrel 5 so that projection parts 12 are engaged with a press ring supporting part 11 on the lens barrel side. At the loading of the press ring 6, a lens holding part 13 on the inner peripheral part of the press ring 6 is brought into contact with an outer peripheral edge part on the outside of the effective diameter of the lens 2. Under the state that the projection parts 12 of the press ring 6 are joined with the press ring supporting that 11 of the lens barrel 5, the projection parts 12 are stuck and fixed to the lens barrel 5. The press ring 6 is constituted of a plate material, e.g. a phosphobronze plate, having elasticity (spring property) and the elasticity can be optionally selected and set up by the plate thickness.
