<p>PURPOSE:To optionally adjust a rubbing angle by arranging a rubbing roller on the upper part of a stage so that an angle made between the axis of the rubbing roller and the moving direction of the stage can be optionally adjusted. CONSTITUTION:The rubbing device consists of the stage 11 for moving a film base 12 in the rubbing roller direction and the rubbing roller 10 is obliquely arranged on the upper part of the stage 11 so that the angle made between the axis of the rubbing roller 10 and the moving direction of the stage 11 can be optionally adjusted. Namely, the base 12 consisting of a roll-like film is formed by alternately continuing segment patterns 14 and common patterns 15. In case of executing the orientation processing of liquid crystal in the film base 12, the film base 12 is set up on the stage 11 so that the longitudinal direction of the film base 12 coincides with the moving direction of the stage 11, and the stage 11 is moved at a constant speed. A liquid crystal display element can be formed by superposing two orientated bases 16 in the longitudinal direction.</p> |
