[Also in Group IX] A stack of spare travellers 1 for ring spinning frames is held together by an open-ended wrapper 2 so that it can be pushed on to a guide 3 and the wrapper thereafter removed. The guide 3 may be fitted with a knife 4 which severs the part 7 of the wrapper as the stack is moved on to the guide. Alternatively, the part 7 may be provided with an internal tearing strip or formed with lines of perforations and a tag. The wrapper may be formed by inner and outer helically-wound layers, the outer layer being coated with adhesive, or consist of a tube with a longitudinal welded seam. Alternatively, the wrapper may extend partly around the travellers and be adhesively secured thereto or retained in position by its own elasticity.</p> |
