PURPOSE:To obtain the titled extract having hypotensive and diuretic activities, by spontaneously drying leaf of Eucommia ulmoides, a plant of Eucommiaceae family, extracting with a specific amount of distilled water, filtering and concentrating the extract and freeze-drying the concentrate. CONSTITUTION:Leaves of Eucommia ulmoides (TOCHUYO) are picked before defoliation and spontaneously dried until the water-content reaches <=13%. The dried TOCHUYO is extracted with 10 liters of distilled water (based on 1kg of TOCHUYO) at 100 deg.C for 3hr and the extract is filtered, concentrated and freeze-dried to obtain a water-extracted fraction. The extract is useful for the production of a crude drug preparation such as hypotensor and diuretic. |
