2,4-Pentadienoic acid derivatives and platelet aggregation inhibitors containing the same.

A 2,4-pentadienoic acid derivative represented by the general formula (I) <CHEM> wherein R is a group having the formula <CHEM> in which R<1> and R<2> may be the same or different and represent a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, a group having the formula <CHEM> in which m represents 1 or 2 or a group having the formula - CH2 - @@@ - CH2 - CH2 - CH = C(CH3)2 and n represents an integer from 0 to 3 and an ester or a pharmacalogically acceptable salt thereof. These compounds are useful as platelet aggregation inhibitors especially as thrombosis- prophylactic agents.
