PURPOSE:To improve the operability in a one face welding by lowering the supporting height of the material to be welded and by disusing an end tab, by binding to the material to be welded via a pressing plate the backing material somewhat longer than the length of the one face butt weld zone of short sized body. CONSTITUTION:The backing material 3 somewhat longer than the weld zone 2 length is fastened by a speed clamp 8 at its four corners via a pressing plate 5 in the one face butt welding of a short sized body 1. In this case, the height (h) of the supporting angle 11 of the material 1 to be welded is taken less than about 100mm. The operability in the one face welding can be increased owing to no end tab of the weld zone 2 terminal being necessary.
