PURPOSE:To provide an antitumor agent containing a 2'-deoxy-5-fluorouridine derivative and a specific pyridine derivative and having remarkably improved antitumor activity and mitigated side effects such as decrease in body weight, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective agent contains (A) a compound of formula I (R<1> and R<2> are H, 1-10C alkyl or lower alkenyl; R<3> is H or benzoyl; R<1> and R<2> are not H at the same time), e.g. 2'-deoxy-3'-O-ethyl-t-fluorouridine and (B) a compound of formula II (R<4> is H, halogen, cyano or nitro), e.g. 2,6- dihydroxy-3-cyanopyridine and/or (C) a compound of formula III (R<5> is halogen or lower alkyl), e.g. 2,4-dihydroxy-5-chloropyridine. The molar ratio of B and/or C to A is 0.1-10 to 1. The agent is administered at a dose corresponding to 0.5-20mg of the component A per kg-body weight daily. |
