PURPOSE:To enable the good edge preparation of a hollow member by making the root face of a hollow member and the material to be welded constant, by machining a beveling part with the attached torch of the profiling roll mechanism which transfers with its rotation by abutting the end face and inner peripheral face of the hollow member. CONSTITUTION:The plural profiling rolls 10 of the tip of the lever body 5 engaged with the groove 3 of a guide body 4 come into contact with the end face 14 and inner peripheral face 13a of a hollow member 13 by the energizing of springs 7, 8 and transfer along the shape of the hollow member 13 with the rotation of the guide body 4 by a motor 1. The torch 12 for welding or cutting is installed toward the machining part on the holding frame 9 attached to a profiling roll 10 supporting frame. The root face of the hollow member (b) and the material to be welded (a) is therefore made constant and the edge preparation is made better by eliminating the burn through of a welding bead and lock of penetration of the weld zone irrespective of the thickness variation of the hollow member 13.
