PURPOSE:To stabilize recorded and reproduced data by attaching a U-shaped shield plate consisting of a high-permeability material to the side face of a slider near a magnetic core to enhance the shielding capacity of the radio waves radiated from a CRT. CONSTITUTION:When shield plates 4 are attached to side faces of a slider 2, most of the radio wave going from the left is attracted to shield plates 5 added to a carriage and shield plates 4 consisting of high-permeability materials like 'Permalloy(R)' and penetrates little a head core 1. Shield plates 4 are bent into a U shape and are allowed to adhere to both side faces of the slider 2. In this case, shield plates 4 are approximated to the head core 1 as much as possible, and the height of shield plates 4 is so set that they are not projected from a head slide face. Thus, the shielding capacity of the radio wave is improved, and data is stably recorded and reproduced when a flexible disk drive is used near the CRT.
