PURPOSE:To protect an attaching hole for a spark plug, by incorporating an overhanging piece integrally with a gasket disposed between a cylinder head and a cover therefor, and by mounting a cap member provided with a locking piece adapted to be superposed with the overhanging piece, on the spark plug. CONSTITUTION:Cam chambers 2a are formed in the vicinity of a cam shaft 1 and are provided with head covers 3, and a gasket 4 is disposed between the contact surfaces of the cam chambers and the head covers 3. In the above- mentioned arrangement, the gasket 4 is integrally incorporated with an overhanging piece 10 which overhangs outward and covers the space between the cam chambers 2a. Further, a spark plug 6 is mounted thereon with a cap member 7, thereafter, is fitted in a through-hole in the overhanging piece 10, and is then screwed into an attaching hole 5. With this arrangement, a locking piece 9 overhanging from the base section 9 of the cap member 7 covering the outer peripheral surface of the spark plug 6 is superposed with the overhanging piece 10, thereby it is possible to protect the spark plug attaching hole from mud splashed up from the front wheel of a motor-cycle. |
