PURPOSE:To completely prevent the corrosion of a steel plate shell structure in the splash zone of sea area by a method in which a steel plate shell body to be exposed to the ebb and flow zone of sea area where the steel plate shell is to be set is formed of a sea water-resistant clad steel plate, and the portion higher than the high tide level is covered with concrete. CONSTITUTION:A shell body plate 1a, from the lower part to a portion LWL of the low tide level, is formed of a steel plate 2, and the portion from the low tide level to an upper high tide level HWL is formed of a sea water- resistant clad steel plate 3. Also, the portion from the upper end to the high tide level HWL is covered with concrete 4.
